AWS has many special-needs animals. These include older cats and dogs, dogs and cats with health problems, and animals with personality or behavioral problems. Every cat and dog at the shelter is available for adoption to the right home; however, a few are very hard to place and may never find homes.
Sponsors help support the animal of their choice with:
1. Monthly contributions of $10 -or-
2. Six-month contributions of $50 -or-
3. Single annual donation of $100
In return, you will receive:
1. A special biography and photograph from your sponsored cat or dog.
2. Periodic letters and cards updating you on your sponsor pet's progress.
3. Special sponsorship recognition on our website (great for businesses & schools!)
4. Unconditional gratitude and affection from your special sponsor pet.
Make a special bond:
We encourage you to visit and spend quality time with your special friend (always feel free to walk your sponsor dog or let your sponsor cat cuddle in your lap!) Some sponsors not able to visit may prefer to send care packages to their special friend containing special treats and favorite toys.
What it means to your sponsor pet:
This special attention and love can bring a lot of happiness to a shelter animal who may never find the permanent, loving home they so richly deserve.
What happens if your sponsor animal is adopted:
We will notify you immediately if your sponsor pet is adopted. It is our greatest wish to find loving, permanent homes for all animals in our care. If your animal is adopted, we will transfer your sponsorship to another needy animal.
